Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle presents the First Annual POD Regatta (Pnw One Design).  This two-day sailing event is open to One Design, PHRF, and IRC Fleets of all experience levels.  Minimum class size five boats.  Round the buoys races start off Shilshole Bay at 11 am each day varying distance depending on conditions.  The CYC clubhouse is open after racing for great parties serving food and drinks.  Awards presentation follows racing on Sunday .

The POD regatta is open to all one-design and level classes. Two days. Two courses. Awesome racing. Fun Parties. And the winning crew gets a trip to an island that starts with the letter “B”! Registration is now available!

 

Social

Thursday (evening), May 14:  Center for Whale Research, will be presenting an educational program on Puget Sound Orca whales.

Friday (afternoon), May 15: Friday afternoon, informal practice with possible coaching and video. Come get a look at the competition and develop winning strategies with the top sailors. Contact  Jon Henderson (JonHendersonCYC.FCR@gmail.com) for more details.

Friday (evening), May 15: POD Regatta Chalk Talk: We welcome Carl Buchan for the weekend chalk talk! The bar & food open at 6:00, talk begins at 7:00.

Saturday & Sunday: Bring your team and entire family to share the sailing community. CYC clubhouse will be open all weekend for drinks and $5 dinner prepared fresh by Chef Jeromi. Saturday after racing will feature sea stories, dancing and kids activities. Sunday awards presentation after the best sailors have proven their skills and tactics.

Parking, Hoists, and Moorage

The North Parking lot adjacent to the Shilshole Bay Marina dry storage area may be used for trailer and dry-sailed boat storage. Please avoid leaving parked vehicles in the North Parking lot. This maximizes space for boat rigging and trailer storage.

Wet moorage is complimentary to POD participants on a first come first serve basis from Friday 2pm to Sunday 10pm within the horseshoe between the north side of W dock and the south side of X dock. See map.  The north side of X dock is not included in complimentary moorage.

Rafting is permitted and encouraged between W and X docks but not on the north side of X dock. Please do not block the hoists. Please raft up to other POD competitors to conserve space. It works particularly well if boats in the same fleet raft together.
