Volunteer Program Payoff

March 2009

J24 Donation

J/24 Fleet 26 Co-Captain John Mason, left, presented a check for $1,445 to Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle at a board of directors meeting Monday, March 9, at the Shilshole Clubhouse. Receiving the check was CYC Fleet Captain Race Jerry Diercks. The donation represented the 2008 proceeds from a J/24 fleet program to encourage members to perform volunteer work for the club. The club provided volunteer opportunities for the fleet, and members could buy their way out of volunteering by paying an additional $100 in fleet dues. J/24 owners and crewmembers last year repaired and painted mark-set Whalers, worked on the Lake Washington committee boat, and did other volunteer chores. CYC's J/24 group is the region's largest one-design fleet.
