The 2009 Kelly Cup was hosted and sponsored by the Sea Scout Ship Corinthian and the Chief Seattle Council of BSA. It was held at Sail Sand Point using Vanguard F-J dinghies. Six races were held in bright sunshine and 8-10 knots of steady wind. The winning crew of Eric Johnson and Eli White, both CYC junior members, also attended the Koch Cup regatta in 2008 and won the B fleet Kiwi Cup.

This Kelly Cup win was the third consecutive Northwest championship won by CYC Scouts and junior club members. There will be 50 teams competing for the Koch and Kiwi Cups from the U.S. and approximately 10 foreign countries. This time our team will be in the A fleet and hopes to bring home the Koch Cup.
