Party Layout to Be Improved for NOOD II; Volunteers Needed

May 15-17

By Steve Travis
NOOD Co-Chairman

Following on the heels of last years successful NOOD regatta, CYC and SYC will be co-hosting again the NOOD regatta May 15-17, promising improved social gatherings and great buoy racing.

This year, all the social activities will be held in the same area, a tent outside of CYC Shilshole. Learning from some of last years mistakes, the tent area will be larger, there will be separate bar area for beer and mixed drinks, there will be tables and chairs to sit at while eating and the portable toilets should be more visible.

Tbirds getting ready for NOOD

Thunderbirds rafted up at Shilshole during the 2008 version of Seattle NOOD.

As usual the CYC clubhouse bar will be open in the afternoons prior to the tent area being available – the CYC bar will also remain open during the tent party and after the tent area has closed.

We are not sure who arranged the weather last year – so many people have claimed responsibility that it would be unfair to single one person out. However the organizers would very much appreciate help in that area again!

On a more serious note, volunteers are needed to help the race committee. Contact Kevin or Charlie if you can help. To volunteer to help with parking control and boat launching, please contact Steve Travis or the CYC club manager.

We are looking forward to another successful event – of course will only be successful if you come and participate!
