Twelve of the 17 Lasers participating in the Frigid Digit regatta queued up for a crowded start on Saturday, Jan. 30 on Shilshole Bay. In keeping with this year's El Niño weather, temperatures were in the high 40s for the regatta, which featured 11 races over two days. Bill Symes was the winner, with Josh Larsen finishing second and David Brink third. The Seattle Laser fleet is affiliated with CYC but provides its own race committee for the annual event and for other frostbite races during the winter.
