CYC Mini Sailors Tell Their Stories

Friday, January 22, 2010

On Friday, January 22, Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle is hosting an evening of big fun with tales from tiny boats on a huge adventure. Members Chris Tutmark and Craig Horsfield each competed in, and completed, 2009's La Charente-Maritime/Bahia transatlantic race from France to Brazil. In any size boat this would be an adventure, but this race is competed singlehanded in 21' Open 650s. Tutmark and Horsfield had very different experiences in the race, with everything from last minute preparations to surviving a collision with a whale and near sinking. For anyone interested in offshore sailing, shorthanded racing or the amazing Mini Transat scene, this presentation will be a rare treat.
