The package fee permits a specific boat to participate in the 2004 CYC events listed in that package. Only CYC Senior members, their spouses, their children under the age of 21, and CYC junior members are eligible to pay package fees.
If you are not a member of US Sailing, add 10% to the package fee. A "junior" is a person who is a full-time student or who is under 21 on the day he or she registers.
Weekend Events: Adults who are not members of CYC, but are members of any club that is an active or associate PIYA member or is affiliated with US Sailing, may enter any CYC weekend event by paying the "Guest" entry fee. Some events have a nonresident fee; a nonresident is a person living outside of King, Snohomish, or Pierce Counties. See the CYC Racing Schedule for detailed fee information.
Evening Series: Adults who are not members of CYC may enter any CYC evening series by paying the "Guest" entry fee. See the CYC Racing Schedule for fee information. However, such individuals may enter CYC evening series only for a period of twelve months from the date of their first evening series registration. Seattle Yacht Club members are exempt from the twelve month restriction and may enter CYC evening series by paying the "Guest" entry fee.
Juniors: Juniors, as defined above, are welcome to enter any CYC event where their class is accepted. Individual event entry fees for Juniors who are CYC members or non-residents are 50% of the individual CYC member event entry fee (dinghy events only). (Juniors who live in King, Snohomish or Pierce County must be CYC members to receive the race fee of 50% of the CYC member fee.) Whenever a Junior fee is paid, the helmsman of the boat must meet the Junior definition. See the CYC Racing Schedule for fee information.
For events not specifically designated as junior events, CYC requires a ratio of one safety boat for every ten juniors who are under the age of 15 on the day of the first start. The ratio cannot exceed 1:10. It is the responsibility of the parents and coaches to provide the safety boats. CYC does not guarantee the availability of junior safety boats.
PHRF Rating: A boat is considered to have a valid PHRF rating only if current PHRF dues have been paid. You can get a valid PHRF rating or check your status by calling PHRF Northwest at (253) 857-8858 or on the web at http://www.phrf-nw.org/.
Less than 10 boats registered: If less than 10 boats register for a race by the race deadline, the race may be cancelled and the entry fees refunded.
Boats not registered: Boats that race in CYC evening events and are not registered by the second evening of racing may subject their fleet to a lost start on the next evening's race.
Late registrations: Late registrations will be accepted, but a late fee may be charged in addition to the fee listed for the event.
Exceptions: The CYC Fleet Captain-Race or, in his/her absence, the Race Manager or Commodore may make exceptions to these policies.
