PUGET SOUND ONE-DESIGN RACING PROGRAM
SPECIFIC EVENT SAILING INSTRUCTIONS


These Specific Event Sailing Instructions shall be applied together with the General Sailing Instructions for the Puget Sound One-Design Racing Program. In case of conflict, the Specific Event Sailing Instructions govern.


THURSDAY EVENING SERIES

ELIGIBILITY: 49er, I-14, Etchell, Star, Tasar, Laser, and other one-design dinghy or small keelboat fleets with five or more registered boats.

CLASS FLAGS: Class flags will be posted at the Shilshole Notice Board at 1200 on Wednesday prior to the first race of each series.

CHECK-IN: The race committee would like all boats to sail by the race committee boat before the start of the race.

FIRST WARNING:   1800.

STARTING AREA: In the vicinity of the Shilshole breakwater.

STARTING INTERVAL: 3 minutes. This changes RRS 26.

TIME LIMIT: The time limit will be two hours for each boat in the class. This changes RRS 35.

SCORING: For every five races completed there will be one discarded score. This changes RRS Appendix A2.

SPRING AND FALL WEEKEND SERIES

REGISTRATION: Submit a completed registration form and pay the appropriate fee to the CYC Office at least three days prior to the first race entered.

ELIGIBILITY: 49er, I-14, Etchell, Star, Tasar, Laser, and other one-design dinghy or small keelboat fleets with five or more registered boats.

CLASS FLAGS: Class flags will be posted at the Shilshole Notice Board at 1200 on Friday prior to the first race of each series.

CHECK-IN: The race committee would like all boats to sail by the race committee boat before racing.

FIRST WARNING:  1200.

SPRING FROSTBITE REGATTA

REGISTRATION: Submit a completed registration form and pay the appropriate fee to the CYC Office at least three days prior to the first race entered. Registration will also be available between 0900 and 1000 on Saturday in the CYC Shilshole Clubhouse.

ELIGIBILITY: 49er, I-14, Etchell, Star, Tasar, Laser, Opti, and other one-design dinghy or small keelboat fleets with five or more registered boats.

CLASS FLAGS: Class flags will be posted at the Shilshole Notice Board at 1200 on Friday prior to the first race of each series.

CHECK-IN: The race committee would like all boats to sail by the race committee boat before racing.

FIRST WARNING: 1200 on Saturday, 1100 on Sunday.

AWARDS: First, second and third place trophies will be awarded for each class. Awards will be presented at the Clubhouse following racing on Sunday.

PUGET SOUND ONE-DESIGN FLEET CHAMPIONSHIPS

REGISTRATION: Early registration aids in the planning of the regatta. A $20 late fee will be added to registrations received after close of business on the Wednesday prior to the event. Registration will also be available between 0900 and 1000 on Saturday in the CYC Shilshole Clubhouse.

ELIGIBILITY: 49er, I-14, Etchell, Star, Thistle, Tasar, Snipe, Laser, and other one-design dinghy or small keelboat fleets with five or more registered boats.

CLASS FLAGS: Class flags will be posted at the Shilshole Notice Board at least one hour before the first warning of each event.

CHECK-IN: The race committee would like all boats to sail by the race committee boat before racing.

FIRST WARNING: 1200 on Saturday, 1100 on Sunday.

RACING AREAS: Boats may determine their course location by consulting the class lists posted at the CYC Shilshole Clubhouse or on the CYC website. The north course will race north of Meadow Point. The south course will race in Shilshole Bay.

THE START: A boat starting later than 10 minutes after her starting signal may be scored DNS without a hearing. This changes RRS 63.1 and Appendix A5.

TIME LIMIT: The time limit will be two hours for each boat in the class. This changes RRS 35.

AWARDS: First, second and third place trophies will be awarded for each pre-registered class, with five or more boats registered by September 30, 2009. Awards will be presented at the Clubhouse following racing on Sunday.

TURKEY BOWL

REGISTRATION: Submit a completed registration form and pay the appropriate fee to the CYC office at least three days prior to the first race entered.
