Corinthian Yacht Club Race Book

Foreword

The 1999 CYC Racebook contains the sailing instructions for all CYC races (except for the Puget Sound Spring Regatta, the Leukemia Cup, the Puget Sound Sailing Championship and the Puget Sound Women’s Keelboat Regatta, for which special sailing instructions will be issued). It also serves as the Notice of Race for all CYC races. The Racebook is divided into five sections: The introductory pages include key phone numbers, 1999 officers, a table of contents and this Foreword. These are followed by four chapters. Chapter 1 contains a complete schedule of CYC races for the current year, as well as information on entry fees. Chapter 2 contains the sailing instructions for the races in the Lake Washington program; Chapters 3 and 4 serve this function for the Puget Sound Large Boat and the Puget Sound One-Design programs. As in past years, the mark descriptions for the Lake and Sound are found inside the front and back covers. Several registration forms are tucked into each copy of the handbook.

Competitors in the Puget Sound Large Boat Program and in the Puget Sound One-Design Program should carefully read Sailing Instruction 6.1. It is new in 1999.

The heart and soul of any club is the fun the members have at club events. Don't forget that, whether you sail on the Sound or the Lake, the clubhouse will be open after every race, and food and drink will be available for your crew and your families. Come on in and swap stories with your competitors!

These are your programs. CYC is always happy to receive suggestions for improving its racing programs or the Racebook. Please send us your suggestions for the 2000 Racebook.
