Cruise | Fireworks Cruise to Poulsbo

July 2, 2016 - July 3, 2016

Take advantage of the July 3 Fireworks in Poulsbo being on a Sunday to come over for two nights and have time to explore ashore.  Bring your water toys and your sense of adventure.  Poulsbo has lots of do ashore! Take a walk, explore the many art galleries or check out the used marine parts store and nice dress shops.  Indulge your taste buds at the wonderful bakeries, unique brew pubs and many restaurants.  In addition, the City of Poulsbo will have special July 3 activities on the waterfront to be posted soon on www.vikingfest.org

We are planning to have two moderately sized rafts close to each other this year instead of one huge raft.  Liberty Bay can get a bit busy and crowed on July 3, especially when it falls on a weekend.  Our boat, ALTAIR (Sceptre 41, cream pilot house with blue canvas and trim) will be flying the large CYC burgee.  To make it easier to find us amongst all the other boats, once we are anchored down, we will send out an email with our location to all those who have registered.  Please let us know if you would prefer a text message (make a note in the Guest Names section of the registration). We are always surprised with how many boats fit in Liberty Bay, there will easily be space for everyone.

Bring your tastiest culinary creations to share at the potlucks.  Saturday evening will be lighter appetizers (finger food), maybe gathering in smaller groups, followed by dinner on your own or with friends. Sunday will be significant appetizers (aka Dinner) followed by fireworks.

We will send out a pre-event email to all the boats registered with additional cruise details, possible kayak races, etc. Our phone number will be included so you can call if you can’t find the CYC Raft.  We will be monitoring VHF Channel 69.  Please do the same.

For those new to sailing in the area, the shortest distance to Poulsbo is though Agate Pass, just south of the NW corner of Bainbridge Island.  Going through Agate Pass is best done when the tide is with you.  This is an incoming/flood tide going to Poulsbo and an outgoing/ebb tide leaving Poulsbo; max current is usually mid-way between the low and high tide.

The boat with the fastest speed when under the Agate Pass Bridge will get a prize. Watch your GPS for Speed Over Ground and be honest!

Depart Monday July 4 at your leisure to head on to Winslow for the Fourth of July Celebration in Eagle Harbor or back home.

If you plan on joining the Fireworks Cruise to Poulsbo July 2-3, please use the register link so we will know how many boats to expect and if you will be coming on Saturday for both nights, or just for Sunday; Saturday or Sunday Arrival can be noted in the Guests Name section of the registration.

Please note that if you are attending both the July 2-3 Cruise to Poulsbo and the July 4-5 Cruise to Eagle Harbor, you will need to register for both events separately.

If Registering After June 30, please register directly with Suzette and Paul via email altairseattle@yahoo.com instead of registering on-line with CYC via the Register Link.

Contact Suzette and Paul if you have any questions.

Looking forward to seeing you in Poulsbo!
