June 22-23: Blakely Harbor Raft Up with Low Tide Exploration of Blakely Rocks

Celebrate the Summer Solstice on the Water with CYC!  Can’t come for the whole weekend? Blakely Rocks is an easy sail from Shilshole so this cruise can easily be done as a day trip.

Some boats may go over Friday afternoon/evening. Fly your CYC Burgee and look  for other boats flying their CYC Burgee.

Saturday: Raft Up in Blakely Harbor

  • Explore Ashore
  • Walk to the Port Blakely Historic Cemetery
  • Easy Trail Hike to Fort Ward on Rich Passage
  • Appetizer Pot Luck Saturday evening
  • Bring the kids

 Sunday Explore Blakely Rocks Low Tide*

  • Low Tide of -3.6 at 10:30 (check time)
  • Lots of marine life in tidal environment
  • Members with marine biology experience on hand to help identify creatures
  • Wear shoes that can get wet
  • Bring a picnic lunch
  • Arrive at the rocks via dinghy, kayak or sailing dinghy
  • Don’t have a dinghy? Hitch a ride with another member
  • Racers – come find out where all the rocks are the easy and non-damaging way

 *Note: If the weather is calm it may be possible to anchor off Blakely Rocks to ferry people ashore but extreme caution should be used when anchoring in this area.
