North Sails in Portland is hosting a sanctioned US SAILING JUDGES WORKSHOP and EXAM that is required for initial certification and re-certification as a US Sailing Judge. It is also helpful for those who want to learn more about what goes on in the Protest Room. This program is not a basic rules instruction course.

The workshop will begin at 0830 each day and last until approximately 1600. It will cover a variety of topics necessary for successful judging such as:

• Techniques involved in running good hearings
• Discerning and documenting facts found and decisions
• Handling of contentious issues
• Arbitration
