Volunteer Whaler Driver Training
CYC will be holding two training sessions for volunteer drivers for our mark set and rescue Boston Whalers, starting this Wednesday evening at CYC Shilshole at 7 p.m. The club will focus on volunteers for Shilshole small boat sailing as our top priority.
To be eligible to be a volunteer driver, you need to be (a) a CYC member, and (b) legally authorized to operate a powerboat in Washington State (we will talk about the state licensing requirement in the class).
It’s fun and challenging, and gives you a great opportunity to give back to your fellow sailors. Also, if you are a Thursday night dinghy sailor, we will average out your scores for the nights you volunteer.
