In addition to honoring the new additions to the Club’s Honor Roll of Champions and the winners of the Club’s Performance Trophies during 2014, we will announce the winners of the Club’s Discretionary Awards, as selected by the CYC Board.  With so many outstanding 2014 performances, to be nominated is itself a great honor.

Honor Roll additions: Dalton Bergan, Fritz Lanzinger, Paul LaMarche,  Michael O’Brien, Derek Vranizan, Keith Whittemore

2014 Discretionary Awards nominees include:

Sailor of the Year – Pat Denny, Jerry Diercks, Fritz Lanzinger, Pat Schirmer, Derek Vranizan

Boat of the Year – Absolutely (Charlie Macaulay), Delirium (Jerry Diercks), Here and Now (Pat Denny), Jubilee (Erik Kristen), Ranger (Pat Schirmer), Terremoto (Bill Weinstein)

Hans Otto Giese – Herb Holley, Geoff Pease, Michele Rogalin Henderson

Cruising Boat of the Year – Sand Dollar (JC and Shauna Walgren), Solstice (Ron and Peggy Watt)

And of course there will be recognition of outstanding Junior Sailors, the Boating Family of the Year, a Dog House Award and the winners of various performance trophies, recognizing such boats (and their skippers and crews) as Outlaw, Scimitar, Blue Martini, Gaucho, Tachyon, Glory, Project Mayhem and New Haven.
