CYC will host Optimist Racing Clinics for Intermediate and Advanced Junior Optimist sailors at the CYC Clubhouse.  Currently scheduled clinics are listed below.  In these clinics Junior sailors may improve their racing skills in weekend classes with both on-the-water and classroom instructions. Clinics are limited to 12 students.  While registration preference is given to CYC members, the clinics are open to all. While sailors are encouraged to bring their own boats and especially sails, CYC-owned Optimist dinghies are available to rent upon at least one-week’s notice.

These following classes will begin at noon and end on 5 pm on Friday, run from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, and from 9:30 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

*Note the $250 reduced fee applies to all who register for any two days or who attend only one day; no other reduced fees apply or will be given.  A $20 late-registration fee will be charged for registrations within one week of the clinic (after June 6 for clinic listed above).

Fees must be paid in full before your child starts the clinic.

You must inform the CYC office at least one week prior to the Clinic if you wish to rent a CYC-owned Optimist dinghy for the clinic.  The fee for renting a CYC-owned Optimist dinghy is $60 for a clinic.

To register for a clinic, please complete and deliver the following materials to the CYC Office along with the appropriate payment:

• Registration Form
• Consent, Release, Waiver and Permission Form
• Optimist Dinghy Rental Agreement and Release (if applicable)

Registrations are not complete until all documents and payment are received by the CYC office. If more than one family member will be participating in a clinic, please complete a full set of these documents for each junior participating in the Clinic.

Refund Policy

CYC requires payment in full in order to complete registration. Registrations that are cancelled at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of the clinic will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee (per clinic cancelled). Registrations cancelled within 2 weeks of the first day of the clinic will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee if CYC is able to fill the vacated spot but otherwise will not be refunded. No refunds will be given once a clinic has started.
