Corinthian Yacht Club’s 2001- Sixth Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta going to be fun!

Now in its 6^th year, the Leukemia Cup Regatta will be held at the Corinthian Yacht Club June 2, 2001. Corinthian will be joined by national sponsors such as Alaska Airlines, Wyndham Hotels, Volvo, West Marine, Mount Gay Rum, and North Sails to host a regatta solely for the purpose of fundraising for the Leukemia Foundation.

Last year Corinthian Yacht Club was 4^th in the country in fundraising out of 20 Yacht Clubs nationally. This event continues to grow all over the country with outstanding attendance. This year’s event will be held at Shilshole on Saturday June 2nd. A continental breakfast will kick of a day of racing, followed by dinner and a party that continues to draw boats from all over the Northwest.

Boats not only compete on the race course, they also compete in fundraising, for top fundraisers we have some very exciting prizes that include airfare and hotel accommodations from Wyndham Hotels, round trip tickets on Alaska Airlines, North Sails coupons, and discount coupons for West Marine. Many boats secure multiple corporate sponsors that can receive recognition during the event for their contributions to the Leukemia Society.

The Etchells one design fleet will be sailing in the regatta, as well as the new Performance 30 fleet. For those that are more casual about their racing, we will have the popular "Cruising Class" for those that want to race their comfortable cruisers and leave the barbecue and the dogs on the boat! We have something for everyone!

For the past few years young Leukemia patient Alexander Barr has attended the regatta and charmed racers that are working towards helping to find the cure. Little Alexander will be in the regatta again, this time he will be sailing on a boat!

We would like to invite you for a weekend of fun and camaraderie while we sail for a cure. Racing will start at 1000 am, with spectator boats that will be available for those wanting to watch "on the water". Spectators are also welcome to watch the racing from inside the yacht club.
