The Commodore Gibson Cruise/Race was canceled last weekend due to high winds and stormy weather.

We will NOT be rescheduling this race but please join us for other CYC racing and cruising events.

Then race back to Shilshole on Sunday after a casual potluck breakfast.

Become Famous!

Finish first and have your name and boat name engraved on the Commodore or Gibson Perpetual Trophies. While the original trophies have somehow vanished, they will be replaced before the Annual Prize Giving in January 2016.

Not a racer? Not a problem!

Try your hand at some informal racing with this low key event.  It’s all about being on the water with fellow club members and having fun. Pick up some ideas for making your boat go faster from members with racing experience. Don’t have a “PHRF rating”? Let us know what kind of boat you have, what sails you would like to use, if you want to tow a dinghy and we will figure out a rating for you.

Racer but don’t do “cruising type events”?

We would love to have you join us to try an informal version of your sport and participate in the camaraderie of a cruising experience.  Bring your family and/or friends for crew. Almost any type of boat can have fun on this two day, overnight at the dock, adventure. Don’t want to sleep on your race boat? Reserve a room at the Inn.

How it works…….

Handicapped Scoring System is used so heavier, less performance-oriented boats can compete with sleeker, lighter race boats. “Start times” vary for each boat and are based on your rating with the slower boats starting first and faster boats starting later. The goal is for everyone to finish around the same time. Skippers Meeting at CYC Saturday morning.
