The first cruise of the year for the CYC cruising club was to Eagle Harbor this past weekend. The day started out cold and rainy in Seattle, but that all quickly changed once cruisers hit the Pudget Sound Waves. The rain tapered off and he Sun began to shine through. Cloudy it warmed up the first day. Brent and I arrived early to set up and prepare for the other members. As soon as we finished preparing the boat for welcoming, the first cruisers arrived. As each boat came in, we helped them tie or raft up and everyone was greeted with a traditional Spanish firework popper and a shot of the Best Mexican tequila as their initiation into the fiesta. Unfortunately, we were so busy greeting everyone with one shot of tequila each to and firework popper we did not get a photo. But it was a hit. A great way to start of the celebration.

Lunch and the afternoon was leisure time, some cruisers went into town to enjoy the sites, while others just enjoyed the warming of the day breaking through sunshine. Appetizers began right on time at 4:30 pm on Genes’ 43 ft. Troller followed by dinner at 5:00pm. We ran on time. The dinner was fill with amazing dishes including; I had made homemade from scratch two pans of fresh enchiladas during that afternoon, a beautiful Spanish bean dish provided by Gene, some great lamb appetizers, and amazing layered Spanish dip with chips provided by other epic cooking cruisers in our group.  Everyone was thankful to have Genes boat there. It was perfect for all of us and kept everyone Super cozy and warm with the most amazing water front view through sparkling large glass windows.  A perfect space for all the food and everyone to comfortably sit in. Spanish music filled the room as everyone sat down and shared their stories of their afternoon exploring adventures.  Children played and laughed and enjoyed having music to dance too.

The Tequila tasting was at 7:00pm, the results went as the following: Gene – Won Best Tequila and him Worst to Brent (because I had given out our best tequila out for greeting), the third prize went to Mike and Lisa. It was a fun event. We learned about different tequilas and shared tequila secrets. As the sun set down the evening slowly closed to everyone heading back to their boats and dreaming of dancing in Mexico. The next day was super warm and Sunny. We sat around the dock sharing café and stories together and said our goodbyes. It was a true Mexican Fiesta.

Brent and I have plans to better improve next year fiesta, due to last minute unexpected major family event that occurred to me, the week before the fiesta, we ran out of time. But next year, I would like to even improve the fiesta even more so, by adding a few more Mexican secrets.

We would like to Thank Everyone for coming and for being brave to start cruising in the rain. Now you all know that when we start out cruising in the rain, we are only get Sunshine when we arrive.

Thank you each one of you for your time, support and contribution, to make the Mexican Cruise Fiesta potluck a success. It just would Not had been as Fun without you. Hugs to you all. I look forward to more cruising with you soon.
